I must say that anything can be done by hand. We have artists making jewelry,  knitting  &crocheting, painting in many different ways that I can even imagine.
There are people who can make anything from beads to furniture. .
What is mainly required for being in handmade business is creativity, dedication and passion. When doing wood work related items, there is something else also needed is hard work and attention to detail.
The reason why I am stressing about hard work and attention to detail specifically because there is actually quite a lot of physical work involved.
A wrong piece cut or little oversight can result in a messy piece.
Not to mention the attentiveness needed while working on equipment. .
